Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of CDK1/CDC2 only when phosphorylated at Threonine 14.
Target Information
CDK1 (Cell Division Control protein 1) is essential for the completion of START, the controlling event in the cell cycle required to initiate mitosis. CDK1 acts as the catalytic subunit of the M-Phase Promoting Factor, a protein kinase complex inducing entry into mitosis and conserved among eukaryotes. Phosphorylation of Bcl-2 in G2/M phase-arrested cells after photodynamic therapy with hypericin involves a CDK1-mediated signal delaying apoptosis onset. CDK inhibitor NU2058 has shown therapeutic potential in androgen-independent prostate cancer.
