SOX17 (transcription factor SOX-17)은 SRY-related HMG box family에 속하는 전사 인자로, 표적 프로모터 DNA에 결합하여 DNA를 굽히며 전사 조절에 관여합니다. 5'-AACAAT-3' 또는 5'-AACAAAG-3' 서열에 결합하며, WNT3A를 통한 전사 조절을 매개하고 Wnt 신호를 억제합니다. 활성화된 CTNNB1의 분해를 촉진하며, 배아 발달의 조절에 필수적입니다. SOX17 유전자의 돌연변이는 요관역류(vesicoureteral reflux)를 유발할 수 있습니다.
