Target Information
O6-Methylguanine-DNA Methyltransferase (MGMT) is a DNA repair protein involved in tumor cell resistance to chemotherapeutic alkylating agents. It protects normal cells against genotoxic and carcinogenic effects of DNA alkylation by removing alkyl groups from the O6 position of guanine. MGMT expression levels vary by cell type, tissue, species, and tumor characteristics.
