Target Information
EIF2AK3 (PERK)는 번역 개시 인자 eIF2-α의 Ser51을 인산화하는 4가지 키나아제 중 하나로, 다양한 환경적 스트레스에 반응하여 단백질 합성을 감소시킵니다. PERK 신호는 주로 소포체 내 단백질의 잘못된 접힘에 의해 유도됩니다.
EIF2AK3 결함은 Wolcott-Rallison 증후군(WRS)의 원인으로, 이는 조기 발병 당뇨병과 다발성 골단 이형성증을 특징으로 하는 희귀 상염색체 열성 질환입니다. 또한 간·신장 기능 장애, 정신 지체, 심혈관 이상 등 다양한 전신적 증상을 동반할 수 있습니다.
