Target Information
The HOXD10 gene belongs to the Abd-B homeobox family and encodes a nuclear protein with a homeobox DNA-binding domain. It is part of a cluster of homeobox D genes located on chromosome 2. This transcription factor is expressed in developing limb buds and plays a role in differentiation and limb development.
Mutations in HOXD10 have been associated with Wilms’ tumor and congenital vertical talus, as well as foot deformities similar to those seen in Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease.
