Target Information
LILRB2 (ILT4) gene is part of the leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor (LIR) family, located at chromosomal region 19q13.4. The encoded protein belongs to the subfamily B class of LIR receptors, containing two or four extracellular immunoglobulin domains, a transmembrane domain, and two to four cytoplasmic ITIM motifs.
This receptor is expressed on immune cells, binds MHC class I molecules on antigen-presenting cells, and transduces inhibitory signals that modulate immune responses. It helps regulate inflammatory responses and cytotoxicity to prevent autoreactivity.
Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified for this gene.
