Target Information

Transforming Growth Factor, beta receptor 2 (TGFBR2; also known as AAT3, FAA3, MFS2, RIIC, LDS1B, LDS2B, TAAD2, TGFR-2, TGFbeta-RII) is a member of the TGF-beta family of receptor Serine/Threonine kinases. It plays a critical role in regulating cell proliferation.
TGFBR2 encodes the gamma subunit of the catalytic core of mitochondrial ATP synthase, which catalyzes ATP synthesis using a proton gradient across the inner mitochondrial membrane during oxidative phosphorylation.
Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms, and a pseudogene exists on chromosome 14.
