Mitofusin 1 (MFN1)와 관련 단백질 MFN2는 미토콘드리아 막 GTPase로, 미토콘드리아 대사에 중요한 역할을 하며 비만 또는 세포사멸 과정과 관련될 수 있습니다. MFN1과 MFN2는 동종 및 이종 복합체를 형성하여 미토콘드리아 융합을 조절하며, 배아 발달에 필수적입니다. MFN1은 Bax 단백질의 활성화 조절에 관여하여 세포사멸 관련 구조적 변화를 억제하지만, Bax의 미토콘드리아 이동에는 영향을 주지 않습니다.
