Target Information
The NSDHL protein is localized in the endoplasmic reticulum and plays a role in cholesterol biosynthesis.
Mutations in this gene are associated with CHILD syndrome, an X-linked dominant disorder of lipid metabolism that disrupts cholesterol biosynthesis and is typically lethal in males.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants with differing 5′ UTRs have been identified for this gene.
