E-Cadherin (epithelial cadherin)은 칼슘 의존적 세포-세포 접착 단백질로, cadherin 슈퍼패밀리에 속하는 고전적 카드헤린입니다. 이 단백질은 5개의 세포외 cadherin 반복 영역, 막관통 영역, 그리고 보존된 세포질 꼬리로 구성되어 있습니다.
E-Cadherin 유전자의 돌연변이는 위암, 유방암, 대장암, 갑상선암, 난소암 등과 연관되어 있으며, 발현 감소 또는 소실은 암의 침습성과 전이 가능성 증가와 관련됩니다.
