Product Specific Information

MA5-17756 targets I-Ab in FACS applications and shows reactivity with Mouse samples.
The immunogen is mouse MHC class II I-Ab.

Target Information

I-Ab (H2-Ab1, histocompatibility 2, class II antigen A, beta 1) is an MHC class II heterodimer consisting of non-covalently associated alpha (31–34 kDa) and beta (26–29 kDa) chains.
MHC class II antigen presentation involves:

  1. Antigen degradation into peptides within antigen-presenting cells (APCs).
  2. Degradation of the invariant chain (Ii) to allow peptide binding.

These molecules present exogenous antigens to CD4⁺ T lymphocytes and are expressed in APCs such as B cells, dendritic cells, and macrophages.
The beta chain (H2-Ab1) contains six exons encoding the leader peptide, extracellular domains, transmembrane, and cytoplasmic regions.
Both alpha and beta chains contain polymorphisms that determine peptide-binding specificity, important for immunogenetics and bone marrow transplantation typing.

HLA and MHC antibodies are essential tools in immunopeptidomics, aiding in neoantigen identification and characterization using LC–MS/MS.
