EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor)는 다양한 성장인자에 반응하는 수용체 티로신 키나아제로, 과발현은 여러 암종과 관련되어 있습니다. EGFR은 인간 7번 염색체에 위치한 EGFR 유전자에 의해 암호화되며, HER/ERbB 단백질 패밀리(ERbB2, ERbB3, ERbB4 포함)에 속합니다. EGF 또는 TGF-α와 같은 리간드가 결합하면 EGFR은 이합체를 형성하고 세포질 도메인의 티로신 잔기에서 자가 인산화가 일어납니다. 이러한 과정은 다양한 암세포(두경부, 뇌, 방광, 위, 유방, 폐, 자궁내막, 자궁경부, 외음부, 난소, 식도 등)에서 과발현되어 있습니다.
