Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the F-box protein family characterized by an approximately 40 amino acid motif, the F-box.
F-box proteins are part of the ubiquitin protein ligase complex SCFs (SKP1-cullin-F-box), functioning in phosphorylation-dependent ubiquitination.
They are divided into three classes:

1. Fbws – containing WD-40 domains
2. Fbls – containing leucine-rich repeats
3. Fbxs – containing other protein-protein interaction modules or no recognizable motifs

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the Fbls class, containing 12 tandem leucine-rich repeats and an F-box.
Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
