NEK11 (FLJ23495) belongs to the NIMA family of kinases involved in DNA replication and genotoxic stress response. NEK11 encodes a nucleolar protein that may function with NEK2A in the S-phase checkpoint. It plays roles in DNA replication and response to genotoxic stress. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described.
