Product Specific Information

This OX42 monoclonal antibody reacts with rat CD11b and CD11c.
CD11b (integrin alpha M, Mac-1) is a component of complement receptor 3 (CR3), and CD11c (integrin alpha X) is part of complement receptor 4 (CR4).
These markers are expressed on macrophages, monocytes, granulocytes, and dendritic cells. OX42 also detects microglia in the brain and cells in the liver and epidermis.

OX42 has been shown to inhibit complement-mediated rosette formation and granulocyte aggregation.

Applications Tested: Tested on rat splenocytes at ≤ 0.125 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.

Target Information

Integrins are heterodimeric membrane proteins composed of alpha and beta chains.
CD11b mediates adhesive interactions and uptake of complement-coated particles (CR3 receptor for iC3b). It binds fibrogen, factor X, and ICAM1, and is expressed on macrophages, granulocytes, NK cells, and monocytes.
CD11c forms the alpha X beta 2 complex (CR4) with ITGB2, contributing to leukocyte adhesion and phagocytosis.
Mutations in CD11b/c are associated with systemic lupus erythematosus 6.
