Target Information
SLC19A2 encodes a thiamin transporter protein. Mutations in this gene cause thiamin-responsive megaloblastic anemia syndrome (TRMA), an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by diabetes mellitus, megaloblastic anemia, and sensorineural deafness.
