Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.
Target Information
CD235a (Glycophorin A, GPA) is a single-pass membrane sialoglycoprotein expressed in mature erythrocytes and erythroid precursor cells.
It carries blood group M and N specificities and provides cells with a mucin-like barrier that may minimize aggregation between red blood cells.
CD235a also acts as a receptor for Sandei virus, parvovirus, and Hsa (Streptococcus adhesin).
