Description
Guard columns and retention gaps are essential components in gas chromatography.
A guard column traps nonvolatile materials at the head of the column, preventing contamination and protecting the analytical column.
A retention gap focuses transferred compounds from the inlet into a narrow band at the analytical column head, minimizing peak broadening.
Siltek-treated stainless-steel MXT guard columns provide excellent compatibility with MXT analytical columns, combining the durability of metal with the inertness of glass.
These guard columns can also serve as retention gaps.
