Target Information
The UBE2V1–UBE2N and UBE2V2–UBE2N heterodimers catalyze the synthesis of non-canonical Lys-63-linked polyubiquitin chains. This type of polyubiquitination does not lead to protein degradation by the proteasome. It mediates transcriptional activation of target genes and plays roles in cell cycle progression, differentiation, and error-free DNA repair.
UBE2N acts together with E3 ligases (HLTF, SHPRH, RNF5, RNF135, TRIM5, TRAF3IP2) in various Lys-63-linked polyubiquitination processes, contributing to DNA repair, antiviral response, and inflammatory gene expression.
