The eBio8F1-1-4 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD181 (CXCR1, IL-8Ralpha).
CD181 is a 67–70 kDa member of the 7-transmembrane G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) family.
It forms homodimers or heterodimers with CD182 (CXCR2, IL-8Rbeta) and is expressed on granulocytes, NK cells, subsets of T cells, mast cells, monocytes, endothelial cells, megakaryocytes, and oligodendrocytes.

Binding of ligands such as IL-8, NAP-2, GCP-2, and GRO-alpha induces cell activation, chemotaxis, proliferation, and angiogenesis.
CD181 mediates phospholipase D activation and respiratory burst, whereas CD182 does not.
IL-8 mainly affects neutrophil function through CD181.

Applications Reported:

• Suitable for flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:

• Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometry using normal human peripheral blood.
• Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test in 100 µL final volume.
• Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

CXCR1 is a G-protein-coupled receptor for interleukin 8 (IL8).
It binds IL8 with high affinity and transduces signals via G-protein-mediated second messenger systems.
Mouse knockout studies indicate inhibition of embryonic oligodendrocyte precursor migration in the developing spinal cord.
The CXCR1 gene (IL8RA) forms a cluster with IL8RB and IL8RBP on chromosome 2q33–q36.
