Target Information
CAMSAP3 is a key microtubule-organizing protein that specifically binds the minus-end of non-centrosomal microtubules and regulates their dynamics and organization. It recognizes growing microtubule minus-ends, stabilizes the microtubule lattice, and protects minus-ends from depolymerization. CAMSAP3 is required for the formation and maintenance of zonula adherens, anchoring microtubules to cell junctions and ensuring epithelial cell polarity. It also plays roles in early embryonic development, non-centrosomal microtubule generation, and intracellular organelle organization through interactions with proteins such as KIFC3, MACF1, KATNA1, and AKAP9.
