Cyclin F는 세포주기 전환을 조절하는 cyclin family의 구성원으로, cyclin-dependent protein kinase를 활성화하는 역할을 합니다. 또한 F-box protein family에 속하며, F-box 단백질은 SCF(SKP1-cullin-F-box) 복합체의 구성 요소로서 인산화 의존적 유비퀴틴화에 관여합니다. F-box 단백질은 WD-40 도메인을 포함하는 Fbws, leucine-rich repeats를 포함하는 Fbls, 기타 단백질 상호작용 모듈을 포함하거나 인식 가능한 모티프가 없는 Fbxs로 분류됩니다. Cyclin F는 Fbxs 클래스에 속하며, F-box 모티프가 최초로 확인된 단백질 중 하나입니다.
