Target Information
Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP)는 세포 표면 kinesin I 막 수용체로 작용하며, beta-secretase와 presenilin 1의 축삭 수송을 매개합니다. APP는 신경돌기 성장, 신경세포 접착 및 축삭 형성에 중요하며, 100–140 kDa 크기의 막관통 당단백질로 여러 isoform이 존재합니다.
APP의 proteolytic cleavage는 beta- 및 gamma-secretase에 의해 일어나며, 이는 Alzheimer’s disease의 주요 병리학적 특징인 노인성 플라크의 주성분인 beta amyloid를 생성합니다.
APP의 이상 조절 및 처리 과정은 Down’s syndrome, 조기 발병 가족성 Alzheimer’s disease, 그리고 뇌출혈에도 관련이 있습니다.
