Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody 3DS304M recognizes mouse CD304 (Neuropilin-1), a type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on regulatory T cells (Treg), NKT cells, dendritic cells, certain stem cells, neurons, endothelial cells, and some neoplastic cells.

Neuropilin-1, in complex with plexins, acts as a co-receptor for type 3 semaphorins in neurons and participates in angiogenesis as part of the VEGF receptor complex. In mice, Neuropilin-1 is expressed on thymus-derived natural Treg cells but not on peripherally induced Treg cells. Transient expression has been observed on recently activated non-regulatory T cells.

Neuropilin-1 serves as a marker for recent thymic emigrants in mouse iNKT cells and forms a complex with TGF beta receptors, activating latent TGF beta and enhancing Smad2/3 signaling.

This antibody recognizes both formaldehyde-fixed and methanol-treated epitopes.

Target Information

Neuropilin-1 (NRP1) is a 923-amino-acid membrane-bound co-receptor belonging to the neuropilin family. It contains two CUB domains, two F5/8 type C domains, and a MAM domain. Neuropilin-1 forms heterodimers with Neuropilin-2 (NRP2) and binds plexins (PLXNB1) to form semaphorin receptors.

Primarily expressed in the nervous system, Neuropilin-1 is involved in:

  • Cardiovascular development and angiogenesis
  • Axon guidance and neuronal circuit formation
  • Cell survival and migration
  • Organogenesis outside the nervous system

It functions as a receptor for both semaphorins and VEGF, regulating VEGF-induced angiogenesis. Neuropilin-1 expression has been linked to aggressive prostate carcinoma and breast cancer progression.
