Target Information
MRPL42는 포유류 미토콘드리아 리보솜 단백질로, 핵 유전자에 의해 암호화되어 미토콘드리아 내 단백질 합성에 관여합니다. 미토리보솜은 28S 소단위와 39S 대단위로 구성되며, 단백질 대 rRNA 비율이 약 75%로, 원핵 리보솜의 비율과 반대입니다. 미토리보솜은 5S rRNA를 포함하지 않으며, 종 간에 단백질 서열과 생화학적 특성이 크게 달라 서열 상동성으로 인식하기 어렵습니다. MRPL42 유전자는 28S와 39S 단위 모두에 속하는 단백질을 암호화하며, 대체 스플라이싱으로 여러 전사체 변형을 생성합니다. 해당 유전자의 유사유전자는 염색체 4q, 6p, 6q, 7p, 15q에 존재합니다.
