Target Information
Tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase 3 (TIMP3)는 metalloproteinase(MMP)의 활성을 억제하는 단백질로, 세포외 기질 구성 요소의 분해를 방지합니다. TIMP3는 mitogenic 자극 시 발현되며, 아연 의존성 MMP에 비가역적으로 결합하여 촉매 아연 보조인자와 결합함으로써 효소를 불활성화합니다. 또한 신경계 발달, 조직 재생, 시각 인지 과정에도 관여합니다. 인간에서 TIMP3 유전자는 염색체 22에 위치합니다.
