NY-ESO-1은 CT(cancer/testis) 단백질군에 속하는 종양 특이 항원으로, 강한 면역원성을 지닙니다. CD8+ T 세포에 의해 인식되는 여러 종양 항원 중 하나로, 세포독성 T 림프구와 항체 모두 이 항원에 반응하는 것이 확인되었습니다. 정상 조직에서는 고환의 생식세포(특히 정원세포)에서만 발현되며, 다양한 인간 종양 유형에서도 검출됩니다.
