Target Information
ADRBK1 (GRK2) is a serine/threonine kinase involved in phosphorylation of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs). GRK2 (83 kDa) is ubiquitously expressed in mammals and regulates GPCR internalization and downstream signaling via beta-arrestin-1. Its activity is controlled by phosphorylation (PKC, Src, ERK1&2) and protein interactions. ERK-mediated phosphorylation at serine 670 inactivates GRK2 through negative feedback.
