Target Information
Superoxide dismutase (SOD)는 활성산소종(ROS)에 대한 방어 시스템에 관여하는 항산화 효소입니다. SOD는 초과산화 라디칼 음이온(O₂⁻)을 과산화수소로 변환시키며, 이후 글루타티온 퍼옥시다제와 카탈라아제에 의해 무해한 O₂와 H₂O로 전환됩니다.
SOD는 여러 형태로 존재하며, 그 중 SOD4는 copper chaperone for superoxide dismutase (CCS)로서 Cu/Zn-SOD에 구리를 전달하여 효소를 활성화시키는 역할을 합니다.
