Target Information
JunD is a transcription factor encoded by the JunD gene. Its transcriptional activity is modulated by phosphorylation in response to cellular stress via the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)/Stress-Activated Protein Kinase (SAPK) family. Jun proteins can form dimers with Fos, ATF, and CREB family transcription factors to create the AP-1 complex, which regulates genes involved in cellular growth, proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. Additionally, JunD plays a key role in metabolism through modulation of the IGF-1 signaling pathway.
