Target Information
Zinc-finger proteins contain DNA-binding domains and play diverse roles in transcriptional activation or repression. Most zinc-finger proteins possess a Krüppel-type DNA-binding domain and a KRAB domain, which interacts with KAP1 to recruit histone-modifying proteins.
ZNF786 (zinc finger protein 786) is a 782-amino-acid protein belonging to the Krüppel C2H2-type zinc-finger protein family, implicated in transcriptional regulation. It localizes to the nucleus and contains 16 C2H2-type zinc fingers and one KRAB domain. The gene encoding ZNF786 maps to human chromosome 7q36.1.
