Target Information
Peroxiredoxin (Prx)는 세포 증식, 분화, 세포사와 관련된 퍼옥시다아제 계열 단백질로, 활성 부위 시스테인 잔기를 포함한 티올 특이적 항산화 활성을 지닙니다. 포유류 Prx는 6개의 주요 이소형으로 구성되며, 2-Cys, atypical 2-Cys, 1-Cys Prx로 분류됩니다. 대부분의 2-Cys Prx는 thioredoxin, thioredoxin reductase, NADPH를 이용한 thioredoxin-dependent peroxidase(TPx) 활성을 가지며, 분자량은 20–30 kDa 범위입니다.
Prx I, II, VI는 세포질에, Prx III는 미토콘드리아에, Prx IV는 소포체 및 분비 경로에, Prx V는 퍼옥시좀, 미토콘드리아, 세포질 등 다양한 위치에 분포합니다.
