TIM3 (Hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 2, HAVCR2, T-cell immunoglobulin, mucin-domain containing-3)는 281개의 아미노산으로 구성된 Type-1 Th1 특이적 세포 표면 당단백질입니다.
CD4⁺ Th1 및 CD8⁺ Tc1 세포의 말기 분화 단계에서 발현되며, IgV-like domain, mucin-like domain, 그리고 세포질 영역의 Tyrosine phosphorylation motif로 구성됩니다.
TIM3는 대식세포 활성화, 자가면역 질환 유도, Th1 매개 면역 반응 억제 및 면역 관용 유도에 관여합니다.
병리학적으로는 실험적 자가면역 뇌척수염(EAE)과 같은 Th1 의존성 자가면역 질환과 관련이 있습니다.
