Product Specific Information
- 1 µg/mL of MA5-45584 was sufficient for detection of TARP Gamma2/4/8 in 20 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.
- Detects approximately 35–55 kDa.
- Does not cross-react with TARP Gamma3.
- This antibody was formerly sold as clone S245-36.
Target Information
Voltage-dependent calcium channel gamma-2 subunit (TARP Gamma2 or Stargazin) is encoded by the gene CACNG2 and is the transmembrane gamma subunit of the L-type calcium channel. Stargazin is involved in regulation and trafficking of the ligand-gated ion channel AMPA receptors and is thought to play a role in learning and memory.
Diseases associated with this gene include certain forms of deafness, mental retardation, and childhood absence epilepsy.
