Target Information
Angiopoietin-like protein 4 (ANGPTL4) is a secreted protein selectively expressed in adipose tissue, liver, and placenta. It plays diverse roles in vivo, including adipogenesis, angiogenesis, and carcinogenesis. Its expression is regulated by nutritional and hormonal factors and is associated with pro-angiogenic activity independent of VEGF. ANGPTL4 expression has been observed in hypoxic human tissues and various cancers, such as liposarcoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and renal cell carcinoma.
