Target Information
Polycomb group (PcG) protein that specifically binds histone H3 trimethylated at Lys-36 (H3K36me3) and recruits the PRC2 complex.
Acts by binding to H3K36me3, a mark for transcriptional activation, and recruiting PRC2, enhancing H3K27me3 methylation activity.
Regulates transcriptional networks during embryonic stem cell self-renewal and differentiation.
Promotes PRC2 recruitment to the inactive X chromosome and target genes in ES cells.
Required for repression of Hox genes via enhanced H3K27me3 methylation.
May inhibit PRC2 activity under certain conditions, activating CDKN2A gene and promoting cellular senescence.
Binds to the metal-regulating-element (MRE) of the MT1A gene promoter.
