Target Information
KCNK10 is a member of the superfamily of potassium channel proteins containing two pore-forming P domains. Its expression is high in the kidney and pancreas. This channel acts as an open rectifier, primarily passing outward current under physiological K⁺ concentrations. The protein is strongly stimulated by arachidonic acid and, to a lesser degree, by membrane stretching, intracellular acidification, and general anesthetics. Three transcript variants have been identified for this gene.
