This antibody detects endogenous levels of total Cytokeratin 2e.
Target Information
Cytokeratin pan belongs to a subfamily of intermediate filament proteins characterized by remarkable biochemical diversity. In human epithelial tissues, at least 20 different cytokeratin polypeptides are expressed, ranging in molecular weight from 40 to 68 kDa and isoelectric points between 4.9 and 7.8.
Individual cytokeratins (numbered 1–20) are expressed depending on epithelial type and differentiation stage. Cytokeratin subtype expression patterns assist in distinguishing epithelial malignancies and are valuable in tumor diagnosis using immunohistochemistry, cytopathology, and flow cytometry.
Their expression varies with cell type, differentiation stage, growth environment, and disease state. Keratins are widely used as markers in cancer research and diagnostic studies.
