Target Information
The Gb5 protein is a G protein subunit predominantly expressed in the central nervous system. Two forms are observed: one in the brain (39 kDa) and one in the retina (44 kDa). Gb5 forms tight complexes with RGS7, a regulator of G protein signaling, localized to most brain regions. Gb1–4 do not colocalize with RGS7 despite similar neuronal distribution.
This antibody specifically recognizes a peptide sequence within the D1 blade region, not found in Gb1–4.
