Target Information

PIP5K1C lipid kinase, also known as phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate 5-kinase 1 gamma, phosphorylates phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate to form phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate.
PIP5K1C is localized at synapses and plays roles in endocytosis and cell migration. It directly associates with β-catenin and enhances β-catenin activity downstream of growth factor stimulation.
PIP5K1C expression and kinase activity promote β-catenin phosphorylation on residues that facilitate nuclear import and transcriptional activity.
Deficiency in PIP5K1C impairs neutrophil recruitment due to defective adhesion, regulating adhesion through RhoA GTPase and integrin activation by chemoattractants.
