N-말단의 CAP-Gly 도메인을 통해 미세소관과 결합하며, 다양한 전사체 변이체를 생성합니다. 이 유전자의 돌연변이는 HMN7B(원위 운동신경병증 VII형B) 또는 dSBMA(원위 척수 및 연수 근위축증)를 유발할 수 있습니다.
