Cytoplasm, cytosol, nucleus, chromosome, secreted extracellular space, extracellular matrix, cell membrane, mitochondrion.
Mainly localizes to the cytosol (PubMed:9575137). Present at lower levels in the nucleus and chromatin (PubMed:9575137). Also secreted via a non-classical secretion pathway to the extracellular matrix (PubMed:27270573).
Isoform 2: Cytoplasm, perinuclear region.
배경 정보
Transglutaminases는 epsilon-gamma glutamyl lysine isopeptide 결합을 통해 단백질 간 교차결합을 촉매하는 효소입니다. 이 효소들은 활성 부위의 아미노산 서열은 동일하지만 전체 구조는 다양하며, 칼슘 의존적으로 작용합니다.
이 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 단량체 형태로 존재하며, 레티노산에 의해 유도되고 세포자멸사(apoptosis)에 관여합니다. 또한 셀리악병(celiac disease)의 자가항원으로 알려져 있습니다. 두 가지 전사 변이체가 보고되어 있습니다. (RefSeq, Jul 2008)
