Background
This gene encodes a protein that belongs to the seven in absentia homolog (SIAH) family. The protein functions as an E3 ubiquitin ligase and is involved in the ubiquitination and proteasome-mediated degradation of specific proteins. Its activity has been implicated in regulating cellular responses to hypoxia.
