- Caution: Lacks the His residue in the RING-type domain 2, one of the conserved features of the family.
- Domain: The RING-type zinc finger domain mediates binding to E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme.
- Function: E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that transfers ubiquitin from E2 enzymes (UBE2L3, UBE2L6) to substrates such as LCMT2, promoting degradation. Induces apoptosis via TP53/p53-dependent but caspase-independent mechanism.
- Pathway: Protein modification; protein ubiquitination.
- PTM: Auto-ubiquitinated.
- Similarity: Belongs to RBR family, RNF144 subfamily; contains 1 IBR-type zinc finger and 2 RING-type zinc fingers.
