Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes an extracellular domain of TRAIL-R2 (DR5). TRAIL-R2 is one of two TNF superfamily members that contain a death domain for TRAIL (APO2L).
Target Information
DR5 (Apo2, TRAIL-R2, TRICK2, KILLER) is a death domain-containing receptor for TRAIL, mediating TRAIL-induced apoptosis. It belongs to the TNF-receptor superfamily and transduces apoptosis signals through TNFSF10/TRAIL/APO-2L activation.
FADD adaptor protein is required for DR5-mediated apoptosis. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms and one non-coding transcript have been identified. Overexpression of DR5 induces apoptosis and activates NF-κB.
DR5 is expressed in various cell types, particularly in lymphocytes and spleen. Dysfunctions are associated with squamous cell carcinoma and diffuse infiltrative lymphocytosis syndrome.
