Target Information
This gene encodes a multifunctional protein involved in gene expression, cell signaling, and RNA processing and transport. It contains an N-terminal transcriptional activation domain and a C-terminal RNA-binding domain. Chromosomal translocations between this gene and transcription factor genes result in chimeric proteins associated with tumorigenesis, including Ewing sarcoma and neuroectodermal tumors. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants, and related pseudogenes are found on chromosomes 1 and 14.
