Specificity:
Anti-ARHGAP22 pS397 is specific for phosphorylated ARHGAP22 at Serine 397.
It recognizes the S22→A mutation but not the S397→A mutation.
BLAST analysis suggests cross-reactivity with Mouse, Rat, and Human (100% sequence homology).
Cross-reactivity with other sources has not been determined.

Target Information

GTPase-activating proteins (GAPs) accelerate the intrinsic rate of GTP hydrolysis of Ras-related proteins, resulting in down-regulation of their active form.
ARHGAP22 (Rho GTPase activating protein 22), also known as RHOGAP2, is a 698 amino acid cytoplasmic protein containing one Rho-GAP and one PH domain.
It functions as a GTPase-activating protein for Rac1, converting it to an inactive GDP-bound state, and may be involved in transcription regulation through interaction with ZNF161 (VEZF1).
Multiple isoforms of ARHGAP22 exist due to alternative splicing.
