Target Information
Members of the Dynamin family include GTPase, microtubule-associated proteins involved in cellular trafficking, including microtubule bundling and endocytosis.
Mx1 (MxA) is an interferon (IFN)-induced protein resistant to influenza A virus and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), suggesting an antiviral role.
Mx1 shares 63% identity with Mx2 (MxB), which lacks antiviral activity. Mx2 is localized at the cytoplasmic face of nuclear pores and is not interferon-dependent. It may regulate nuclear import efficiency or kinetics, a function related to its antiviral relatives.
