Target Information
ATP5S (ATP synthase subunit, mitochondrial) is a 215-amino acid protein located in the mitochondrial inner membrane. It belongs to the ATP synthase subunit family and plays a key role in the regulation of mitochondrial ATP synthase activity, being necessary for H⁺ conduction and energy transduction.
The ATP5S gene, also known as factor B, is conserved across multiple species including chimpanzee, canine, bovine, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, and mosquito, and is mapped to human chromosome 14q21.3.
