Target Information
MET (cMET) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. After activation by its ligand, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3. These interactions lead to activation of signaling cascades including RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC pathways.
MET plays a role in embryonic development including gastrulation, muscle and neuron development, angiogenesis, and kidney formation. In adults, it is involved in wound healing, organ regeneration, and tissue remodeling.
MET has been associated with various cancers such as gastric, renal, and breast, making it a target for cancer therapeutics and diagnostic research.
